Welcome Letter for September
Message from Mrs Doolan
An excellent first two weeks her in Year 5. I do keep calling the class Year 4 which I am sure I will stop doing at some point soon! How lovely it has been to have everyone back on the school playground again, sit in groups, eat and play with other classes and share the hall during whole school assemblies. Crazy how much we have all missed those things.
We have enjoyed getting back into the swing of school and learning the expectations of Year 5.
Dates for your diary;
5th October - Year 5 and 6 trip to the Tank Museum
Year 5 recommended reading books
Term 1 and 2 Topic - WW1
Reading Books at Home
Every child has been given a reading book for them to read at their own pace. Please aim to read with your child at least five times per week and record this in their Reading logs.
When the books are completed please return them to school for them to be changed.
Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday pm. Please ensure your child has the appropriate kit in school on these days.
We are also skipping for two minutes per day, as part of Skip to be Fit and running a mile around the playground to travel the world.
We are using Spelling shed for day to day activities and challenges. Please use this link to access Spelling shed.
Reading Eggs is a fabulous app used by school to support the children's reading and comprehension. Please use this link.
