LIVING RAINFOREST EXPERIENCE 23rd JANUARY
The year 3 and 4 went to the Living rainforest, Thatcham, Reading on Monday 23rd January. It was a cold and early start. We left school at 8am and travelled down the M5 and M4 to our final destination. We had a slight delay when we arrived as the road had been closed for emergency repair work and we had a 40 minute detour. We were welcomed by the staff and groups of children were taken around the rainforest where our guides provided lots of information. The children learnt about the animals and the plants of the rainforest. It was a fab day!

Term 2
The Halloween Disco
We started the term with a PoW event. The children looked very scary in their various costumes and had great fun joining DJ Mr Feely in the hall to dance the night away.
Cinema Trip
On Friday the 11th we went on a trip to the cinema to watch The Railway Children. The Year 3 children were taken by their parent/carer to Worle train Station. We then caught the train to Weston Super Mare. The children really enjoyed the film. We then travelled back to Worle train station and walked back to school having eaten our packed lunch at the cinema.
The day before, a rail safety expert came in, to talk to the children about how to be careful and take care, whilst travelling by train. They then supported us by taking us on the train and helping in the cinema. Thank you Platform Rail.
Anti-Bullying Week
To show support for anti-bullying week the children wore odd socks to school.
Children In Need
Friday 18th November was Children in need day. The children brought cakes into school which were sold by the PoW at the end of the day to raise money to donate to CIN. Well done everyone!
Evacuee Day
On Friday 18th November we welcomed evacuee's from Parson Street Primary School, Bristol. They arrived by train.
During the day there were different activities; Code breaking, a learning walk around Worle, Bristol during the Blitz (Ariel archeology) and pigeons that were used to deliver coded messages.
END OF YEAR
The year ended with a whole school trip to the Panto at the Playhouse and a joint performance of Pandemonium with the year 4 class to parents/carers and the whole school.
