Reading is a key skill as it affects all areas of day to day life.  As a school we promote a love of reading and encourage children to read a wide range of different genres.

When children can read fluently with good understanding they self-select books from our well stocked library.

Parents/Carers can help at home by listening to your child read or sharing their book.  The expectation is that your child reads at home a minimum of five times per week in KS2 (Year 3, 4, 5 and 6).  This should be recorded in their reading record.

In Year 3, we love to read. You will find a washing line on our reading wall with all the books that we have shared and loved as a class. We focus on a text with our topic and often have a class read that we like to enjoy at the end of the day. Below are some of those texts.
