Family Assembly

Family Assemblies

Rather than having a School Council, where only 1 or 2 children represent each class, at Worle Village Primary School, we have monthly Family Assemblies.

The children are vertically grouped from Reception to Yr 6 with 10 different members of staff. They are grouped in this way to allow them to have a voice on whole school events and meet their community from other year groups.  This also ensures that they understand what is happening around the school and why events happen, and to share their ideas, concerns and feel listened to.

The Year 6 pupils plan the agenda and activities, and lead the assemblies, supported by school staff. Any information is then fed back and collated for further action.
