Family Assembly

Family Assemblies

At Worle Village Primary School, we believe in giving every child a voice. Instead of a traditional School Council, where only a few children represent their peers, we host monthly Family Assemblies that involve every student.

In these assemblies, children from Reception to Year 6 are grouped together, along with 10 staff members, creating a true sense of community across year groups. This approach encourages students to engage with others outside their class, fostering collaboration and open dialogue about school events, ideas, and concerns.

Year 6 pupils take the lead, planning the agenda and activities with the support of staff. This empowers them to develop leadership skills while ensuring that the entire school community is heard. Ideas and feedback from these assemblies are collected and used to help shape the future of our school.

At Worle Village Primary, every child is given the chance to be heard, to understand the bigger picture, and to help make a difference!
