It is the policy of our school to celebrate achievement. Full attendance is a critical factor in ensuring positive educational outcomes for our pupils. Our school will promote and encourage 100 per cent attendance for all our pupils.
Our attendance target is set in line with the national target.
Our school will give a high priority to emphasising to parents and pupils the importance of regular and punctual attendance. We recognise that parents have a vital role to play and that there is a need to establish strong home – school links and communication systems that can be utilised whenever there is concern about attendance.
If there are problems which affect a pupil’s attendance we will investigate, identify and strive in partnership with parents, pupils and Education Welfare Services to resolve those problems as quickly and efficiently as possible. We will adopt a clearly focused approach aimed at returning the pupil to full attendance at all times.
Please telephone the school on 01934 512200, before 10:00am, on the morning of your child's absence. Please leave a message on the school answer machine stating your child's name, class and the reason for your child's absence. Parents/carers of all absent children will be contacted if the school has not received a message by this time.
If your child has an appointment during the school day Parents are requested to ensure that they are signed out via the main school office. No child should leave the school premises during the school day without going through the formal signing out procedure in the main office.
Parents are expected to ensure that children are present at registration. Registers will close at 8.50am for KS2 and 9.00am for KS1; children arriving after this time will be recorded as late, which is an unauthorised absence. Without prior notice, any child arriving after 9.30am will not be able to order a school lunch. If you know your child will be arriving late for school, due to medical appointments, please pre-order a lunch with the school office.
Very occasionally severe weather conditions may make it necessary to close the school without time being available to give parents written notice. In such circumstances an announcement of closure will be made via our online communication service, which is setup to automatically send to all 1st priority contacts - for these reason it is important to keep the school up to date with your latest mobile contact details.
