English
At Worle Village Primary School, English underpins the whole curriculum. Our aim is for every child to become confident and fluent in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
We recognise that children enter each year group with different starting points. Teachers identify individual needs, including those of vulnerable learners, and plan personalised learning to ensure all pupils make strong progress and can celebrate their successes.
English is taught daily and is embedded across the curriculum. Through high-quality texts, vocabulary-rich learning environments and a carefully sequenced progression of skills, pupils experience a creative, language-rich curriculum that builds literacy and fosters a genuine love of reading, writing and communication.
