Published Admission Numbers (PAN)

For the 2026/27 academic year the Published Admission Number (PAN) is:
🔹 15 places in Reception (Year R)
🔹 30 places in all other year groups (Years 1–6)

This means we will admit up to 15 children into Reception in September 2026, and up to 30 children in other year groups, if places are available.

How to Apply

Applications for Reception and other year groups are made through the North Somerset School Admissions Team.
You can apply online via the North Somerset portal — this is the quickest and easiest way to complete your application.
Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from the Admissions Team.

👉 Apply via North Somerset School Admissions

Delaying or Deferring Reception Entry

Parents of children starting Reception can choose to delay their child’s start date (for example, starting later in the school year) or defer entry until later in the academic year, in line with national guidance.
Parents of summer-born children may also request admission outside the normal age group if they feel this is in their child’s best interests.

Each request is considered carefully and individually, working in partnership with families.
Full details and guidance can be found in the Kaleidoscope Multi-Academy Trust Admissions Arrangements

For full guidance on delaying or deferring Reception entry, and the process for requesting admission outside the normal age group, visit the North Somerset Council deferrals and out-of-age-group admissions page.

In-Year (Mid-Year) Applications

If you are moving house, transferring schools or applying outside the normal admissions round, please use the North Somerset process for in-year admissions:

👉 Apply via In-Year Admissions (North Somerset)

Secondary School Applications (Year 6)

If your child is currently in Year 6, you’ll need to apply for a secondary school place for the following September.

Applications are made through the North Somerset School Admissions Team, not through the school office. North Somerset will confirm the application deadlines, how to apply online, and how places are allocated.

👉 Apply for a secondary school place (North Somerset Council)

We’ll share timely reminders with Year 6 families during the application window, helping to make the process feel clear and manageable.

Oversubscription & How Places Are Allocated

When a year group receives more applications than places available, all applications are ranked according to our oversubscription criteria, and places are allocated in ranked order. This is required by the School Admissions Code

The oversubscription criteria used to rank applications are set out in the Kaleidoscope Admission Arrangements 2026/27 document (linked below). The oversubscription criteria for Worle Village Primary School are set out on page 7 of the document.

Right of Appeal

If you are not offered a place at Worle Village Primary School, you have the right to appeal this decision. Appeals are heard independently, and allow you to explain why you believe your child should attend the school. Details here: 👉 How to appeal

We know this can feel like a lot to navigate, so the key dates are set out in the attached document:
Appeal Timetable 2026/27

What to expect from the appeals process

  • You will have at least 20 school days from the date you are notified that your application was unsuccessful to submit a written appeal.

  • You will be given at least 10 school days’ notice of your appeal hearing.

  • Decision letters will be sent within 5 school days of the hearing, wherever possible.
