Parent & Carer Session

Introduction to the Mental Health Support Team (MHST)

We are pleased to be welcoming parents and carers to an upcoming session introducing the Mental Health Support Team (MHST), who work alongside our school to support children’s emotional wellbeing.

This session will provide an overview of who the MHST are, how they work in schools, and the types of support available for children. Parents and carers will also have the opportunity to meet our allocated Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP), Maya, and learn more about her role within our school community.

During the session, we will explore:

  • Who the Mental Health Support Team are and what they do

  • What we mean by wellbeing and mental health in a primary school context

  • Signs that a child may benefit from additional support

  • How an EMHP can help with areas such as understanding behaviour, worries, anxiety and sleep

  • How parents and carers can access MHST support for their child

Session details:
📍 Location: School
📅 Date: Monday 2nd March
⏰ Time: 2:45–3:15pm

This session is intended to be informative and supportive and is open to all parents and carers. It is not a referral meeting, but an opportunity to better understand the support available and how school and families can work together to support children’s wellbeing.

We look forward to welcoming you.
