How we share photographs

At Worle Village Primary School, we love celebrating everything that makes our school such a special place to learn and grow!

From exciting classroom activities and school trips to sporting achievements, creative projects and those wonderful everyday moments, we are incredibly proud of our children and love sharing their experiences with our wider school community.

However, the safety, privacy and wellbeing of our pupils will always come first.

Why Have We Changed How We Share Photographs?

As technology continues to develop, particularly with the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), we recognise the growing risks associated with sharing children's photographs online.

Images published on websites and social media can potentially be copied, altered or misused without permission.

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, we have therefore taken a proactive approach to how we share photographs publicly.

We no longer routinely publish photographs showing children's full, identifiable faces on our school website or social media platforms.

What Will You See Instead?

We still want families, prospective parents and our wider community to enjoy seeing the fantastic opportunities and experiences available at Worle Village.

We simply capture those moments a little differently!

  • Hands-on learning: Photographs focusing on children creating, exploring, experimenting and taking part in activities.

  • Backs of heads: Capturing the excitement of school life from different angles.

  • Blurred or pixelated faces: Protecting children's identities while still celebrating their achievements.

  • Side-facing photographs: Used where appropriate and with the necessary permissions.

This approach allows us to continue showcasing our vibrant school community while taking additional steps to protect our pupils' privacy.

What About Parental Photograph Permissions?

We continue to respect the photograph permissions provided by parents and carers.

Our approach to public photography is an additional safeguarding measure and does not replace our existing consent arrangements.

Celebrating Every Moment, Protecting Every Child

We believe that sharing school life is important. It helps families feel connected, celebrates children's achievements and gives prospective parents a genuine insight into the wonderful experiences we offer.

Our photographs may look a little different, but the stories behind them remain exactly the same.

Happy children, exciting learning, wonderful achievements and a school community we are incredibly proud of.

Different views, same amazing story!
