Please ensure your child is wearing warm clothes and sensible footwear - as we will be doing PE. It is colder in the classrooms than usual due to windows and doors being kept open for ventilation.
All children have been given their login and password to access Teams.
If you are having problems please email Mrs Read or Mr James (danielle.read@Wvps.me or firstname.lastname@example.org) or the school office for assistance.
- Your child must be dress appropriately (sorry no PJ's)
- Where possible an adult should be with your child so they can monitor the activity on Teams
- Please ask your children not to start their own meetings
- Remind your children not to share passwords with anyone
- Your child should remain in one location when using their camera and should never show anything that could identify where you live
- Teams should only be accessed between the hours of 8.30am and 4pm
There will be a daily live lesson at 9.30am every morning and 1.30pm on Wednesday.
This is an opportunity for your child to have a chat with the rest of the class, take part in fun activities and participate in live lessons.
The timetable may change on a day to day basis please use the day channel in Teams to check the work that has been planned for your child that day. Remember do NOT stress or worry if your child does not complete all the work.
Encourage them to do as much as they can. You are doing an amazing job!

This week's class bulletin
Parent Pack for September 2020
Reading is a key skill as it affects all areas of day to day life. As a school we promote a love of reading and encourage children to read a wide range of different genres.
When children can read fluently with good understanding they self-select books from our well stocked library.
Parents/Carers can help at home by listening to your child read or sharing their book. The expectation is that your child reads at home a minimum of three times per week in KS1 (Reception, Year 1 and 2) and five times per week in KS2 (Year 3, 4, 5 and 6). This should be recorded in their reading record, which will be checked weekly.
In addition, children can access Reading Eggs, an online reading program, at home or in school. Please see your class teacher for login details.
We always encourage children to learn to spell words correctly. They will be taught the spelling 'rules' and how to apply this knowledge in their work.
To support them and let them have some fun while learning we use an online program called Spelling Shed. This can be accessed at home, using the link below. Please see your class teacher for the login details.
Also below is a printable sheet containing the year groups target words.
Homework will be sent home on a regular basis, normally a Friday and due in on Wednesday. There will also be bigger projects from time to time that children will have longer to complete.
We have at least two PE lessons per week, Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure your child's kit is in school at all times to enable us to be flexible.
We do PE in all types of weather so please ensure your child has suitable PE kit. In the Summer months we recommend shorts and t-shirt and in the winter long trousers with t-shirt and hoodie. Trainers or daps should be worn.
All kit should be clearly labelled with your child's name.
An example of our kit, which can be purchased from NK Sports, is below or your child needs a plain white t-shirt and black shorts.
Snacks & Drinks
As a healthy eating school, we encourage children to drink throughout the day. Water is the best drink for children to have as it is the healthiest and if spilt does not attract ants or wasps! They can also bring in a piece of fruit to eat at break time. (No Sweets, fruit rolls etc).
